Backyard Haiku Week #11

Home! And the cherry

Greets our arrival with a

Splash of early pink.

###

Old ladies, beware!

Early days in the garden -

Do NOT overdo!

###

Exuberant weeds

Shooting up in the garden

As if they belong

###

As temperatures rise

And spring arrives, the crushing

Tariffs dampen hope.

###

Thunder shakes the house

Wind and hail rattle windows.

Power’s out again.

###

I’m seventy-three-

Never thought I’d march again,

But that’s where we are.

###

Spring, like a painter,

Brushes the landscape greener,

Lusher by the hour.
